Seismic Zoning in India: Its Impact on Construction

India is a seismically active country, with a long history of destructive earthquakes. To mitigate the risks posed by earthquakes, India is divided into five seismic zones, based on the historical seismicity and the tectonic setup of the region. The five seismic zones are:
